Maintenance of track adjuster

When it comes to the adjustment of track tightness, it must be inseparable from the tensioning device. The tensioning device is installed at the front end of the lower frame, the main tensioning cylinder is inside the frame, the tensioning wheel connected in front is closely matched with the chain, and there is a grease filler for the tensioning cylinder on the side of the frame.

Many people will think that as long as the track tightness is appropriate, the tensioning cylinder does not need maintenance. In fact, this is a wrong view. As we all know, for other oil cylinders on the excavator, such as bucket, jib and boom, their cylinder rod will retract into the cylinder barrel for lubrication and maintenance of hydraulic oil when working, while the cylinder rod of the tensioning cylinder usually has no large expansion range, only a short compressed expansion. As a result, the front end of the cylinder rod is always exposed to air, dust and even muddy water. Therefore, without maintenance for a long time, the cylinder rod of the tensioning cylinder is easy to be corroded and damage the surface coating.

 

In fact, the maintenance of the tensioning cylinder is very simple. We first loosen the oil cylinder grease fitting for 1 to 2 turns, discharge the grease from the cylinder barrel and retract the cylinder rod. Then tighten the grease fitting and add new grease to check whether the surface of the cylinder rod is abnormal. If necessary, apply grease on the cylinder rod to complete the maintenance of the tensioning cylinder.

 

Failure of tensioning cylinder

The most common fault phenomenon of the tension cylinder is that the new butter can't be put in and the old butter can't be put out. This is mostly because the surface of the tensioning cylinder rod is jammed with the cylinder head oil seal, resulting in the cylinder rod can not move, and the grease in the cylinder barrel has poor fluidity, which plays a sealing role. Therefore, once the tensioning cylinder is jammed at the cylinder head, it is very troublesome to deal with, and the cylinder can only be pushed out with a jack
