After a stage of use, the wear of track chain and driving wheel causes the extension of track shoe or track chain pitch, which makes the track unable to maintain a certain degree of tension and deflect downward, and causes the wear of track frame, derailment and chain drop, which makes the track running device unable to work normally.
In order to ensure that the crawler running device can work normally and reduce the impact load and additional power consumption, each crawler is equipped with a tensioning device to maintain a certain degree of tension. The tension device of the track must use the guide wheel to tension the track.
There are many types of track tensioning device, and hydraulic tensioning device is widely used. It uses a hand pump to inject grease into the tensioning device, and the position of the guide wheel is adjusted by the oil cylinder and plunger to achieve the tensioning of the track.
The spring of the tensioning device should have a proper buffer stroke after pre tightening, so that when stones and other hard objects are clamped between the rail chain, the guide wheel and the driving wheel to produce excessive tension, the guide wheel will be forced to move towards the driving wheel, and the spring will be compressed, so as to relax the track and play the role of protection device. If the track is too tight and needs to be relaxed, the oil filling nozzle can be unscrewed to drain some grease from the cylinder barrel.
During the design, the adjusting distance of the guide wheel moving forward and backward should be greater than half of the track pitch, so that when the pitch of the track pin sleeve is extended due to wear, it is possible to connect the tracks after removing one track shoe
