Three causes of "deviant" excavator

The track derailment of the excavator refers to that the track is separated from the track composed of guide wheel, roller, drive wheel and carrier sprocket, commonly known as "chain drop", which is a scene that the excavator driver and machine owner do not want to see. To avoid track derailment, on the one hand, the driver needs to pay more attention when driving the excavator to turn. If the track shows signs of preliminary derailment, the track should be jacked up and idled. On the other hand, the frequent derailment of the track also indicates that there is a problem with the chassis itself and needs to be repaired.

There are many reasons for track derailment, but they can be basically classified into the following three categories:

1. Because the four wheels are not in the same plane, the track is derailed

The reason for the problem is mostly at the guide wheel, because only the guide wheel among the four wheels (guide wheel, roller, drive wheel and carrier sprocket) can move back and forth. The wear of the moving part and the central shaft of the guide wheel will cause the guide wheel to swing left and right, causing the track to deviate from the track. This means that the excavator needs to replace the idler.

2. Because the track is too loose, the track deviates from the track

The tightness of the track is adjusted by the guide wheel pushed by the tensioning oil cylinder. The tensioning oil cylinder is pushed by the butter gun to adjust the tightness of the track, but in many cases, the tightness of the track cannot be adjusted.

For example, if the oil seal of the tensioning cylinder leaks oil, the track will be too loose and cannot be adjusted. This requires replacing the oil seal of the tension cylinder; Oil leakage from the chain nozzle will also cause, and the track cannot be adjusted. The chain breaking nozzle needs to be replaced; In addition, the broken spring at the tensioning device will also cause the track to be too loose. It will be a little difficult to replace this large spring, and professional tools need to be used; Excessive wear or wear of the pin sleeve of the track chain rail will increase the total length of the track and cause the track to be too loose. If the chain rail pin sleeve is not worn through, a track can be cut off. If the chain rail pin sleeve is worn out, the pin sleeve of each section must be replaced. But now it seems that few people "press the chain rail" to replace the pin sleeve, and more people directly replace the chain rail.

3. The track is derailed because the chain guard is worn and does not work

If you compare the chassis of the excavator and the bulldozer, you will find that there are some differences. Even if the track of the bulldozer is very loose, the chain rarely falls off. That is because the chain guard of the bulldozer is a whole piece from the drive to the guide wheel, which wraps all the supporting wheels, while the excavator has only two and small chain guards, one in the middle supporting wheel, One is in the idler position. Once the chain guard is worn, the chain rail is easy to slide outside the chain guard, resulting in track derailment. At this time, the chain guard needs to be repaired or replaced.
